I’m Kate Murcott, an environmental consultant based in Oamaru and deeply connected to the rural communities of Otago and Canterbury. Having lived and worked on farms my entire life, I understand the realities of agricultural businesses — the pressures, the pride, and the constant balancing act between productivity and compliance.

Today, my husband and I farm together while raising our two young children. That lived experience shapes the way I work: practical, down‑to‑earth, and focused on solutions that genuinely support farmers and rural professionals.

My passion is helping landowners and developers meet their environmental responsibilities with confidence. I take care of the regulatory detail so you can focus on what you do best — running your farm or progressing your project — knowing your environmental obligations are being met to a high standard.

Qualifications & Expertise

I bring a strong blend of practical farming knowledge and technical environmental expertise, including:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc)
• Postgraduate Diploma of Science (PGDipSci)
• Certified Nutrient Management Adviser
• Experienced in OverseerFM modelling
• Currently completing a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management

This combination allows me to translate complex regulations into clear, achievable actions tailored to your land, your goals, and your region.
